1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, consumers resident in the European Union have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, without giving any reason. The withdrawal period begins on the day the contract is concluded.

To exercise the right of withdrawal you must inform us at chesspoint.io@gmail.com by a clear statement (for example, a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form set out in Section 6 below, but it is not obligatory.

1.1 Loss of the right of withdrawal for digital services

Chesspoint Membership is a digital service supplied over the internet. In accordance with Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal is lost once performance has begun, provided that you have:

  1. Given your express prior consent to begin performance of the service within the 14-day withdrawal period; and

  2. Acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun.

You are asked to confirm both of these statements by a mandatory checkbox at the checkout step. If you do not tick the box, the subscription cannot be activated. A written confirmation of your consent is included in the invoice email sent to you after payment.

1.2 If you have not consented to immediate performance

If you did not give the express consent described above and still wish to use the service, contact us and we will activate your account only after the 14-day withdrawal period has elapsed. During that period you retain the full right of withdrawal and, on exercising it, will receive a full refund to your original payment method within 14 days of our receipt of your withdrawal notice.


2. Statutory Rights for Non-Conforming Service

Independently of the right of withdrawal in Section 1, EU Directive 2019/770/EU guarantees remedies where the digital service does not conform with the contract. If the service fails to conform, you are entitled, in accordance with the Directive and applicable national law, to:

  • Have the service brought into conformity free of charge;

  • A proportionate reduction of the price; or

  • Termination of the contract and a corresponding refund of money paid for the period during which the service was not in conformity.

3. Voluntary Goodwill Refunds

In addition to your statutory rights, we may, at our sole discretion and on a goodwill basis, grant a refund in situations such as:

  • Accidental duplicate charges or technical billing errors;

  • Extended service outages we cannot resolve within 48 hours;

  • Other circumstances evaluated case by case.

Goodwill refunds do not affect your statutory rights and do not create a precedent for further refunds.


4. How to Cancel Your Subscription

You can cancel your recurring subscription at any time:

  1. Log in to your Chesspoint account and open your subscription settings, or

  2. Send an email to chesspoint.io@gmail.com with the subject line "Cancel Subscription" and the email address associated with your account.

After cancellation:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid billing period.

  • No further charges will be made.

  • Cancellation itself does not, by default, entitle you to a refund of the current billing period — your statutory rights under Sections 1 and 2 above are not affected.


5. Pricing, Billing, and Refund Processing

  • Price: €4.99/month (EUR).

  • Billing frequency: Monthly, recurring.

  • Payment method: Processed by Monri WebPay in a PCI DSS compliant environment.

  • Refund processing: Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 business days of approval. Depending on your bank, the credit may take an additional few business days to appear on your statement.


6. Model Withdrawal Form

You may, but are not required to, use the following model form to exercise your right of withdrawal:
